During the summer of 2008, Bruce was commissioned by the New England Chapter of the F.B.I.'s National Academy to create a portrait of Special Agent Edwin Shanahan to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the F.B.I. The original oil portrait was presented to the Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Division where it is now displayed. S.A. Shanahan was the first F.B.I. Agent ever killed in the line of duty (1925).
